Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a titanium plate material for fuel cell separators, which is capable of surely achieving low contact resistance. A titanium plate material for fuel cell separators according to the present invention is formed of a titanium base layer and a surface layer, and the titanium base layer has a recrystallized structure. The surface layer is formed only of a compound mixed titanium layer which has a thickness of less than 1 μm, and wherein a compound composed of Ti and one or more elements selected from among O, C and N is mixed in a Ti matrix in which O, C and N are solid-solved, or alternatively, the surface layer is formed of the compound mixed titanium layer and a passivation film that is formed on the surface of the compound mixed titanium layer and has a thickness of less than 5 nm.
