Abstract:
Provided are: a method for efficiently separating vinylidene fluoride (VdF) and trifluoroethane (R23) from a mixture comprising VdF and R23; and a method for efficiently producing VdF. This method for separating VdF and R23 comprises: a step of adding a first extraction solvent selected from the group consisting of alcohols having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, ketones, esters, amides, ethers, sulfoxides, and nitriles to a first mixture comprising VdF and R23 to obtain a second mixture; and an extractive distillation step of distilling the second mixture to obtain a distillate based on VdF and a bottom which is based on the first extraction solvent and includes R23.
