Abstract:

Provided is a technique for providing a service for extending the use period of an item having a predetermined use period, the technique being capable of creating sales and increasing the utilization rate thereof by increasing the level of interest of users. The method for providing a service for extending the period of item use, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a step in which a server for providing a service for extending the period of item use receives, from a user terminal, a usage input of a use-period-extending item, which is used to extend the use period of one of at least one item which is used within a game and has a predetermined use period; a step in which one use period is randomly selected from one or more different use periods contained in information on the use-period-extending item when the usage input of the use-period-extending item is received; and a step in which the selected use period is added to the remaining use period of an item matching with the use-period-extending item so as to update information on the remaining use period of the matched item.
