Abstract:
A method for electrolytically obtaining a gas consists in feeding an electrolyzer with direct electric current with stabilized average value, which is determined operationally, automatically monitored during the process and maintained unchanged under the influence of destabilizing factors. A system for electrolytically obtaining a gas comprises an electrolyzer (1) with aqueous electrolyte, a waterlock (10), a gas dehumidifier (12), a means (15) for enriching the gas mixture with hydrocarbons, a gas mixer (14) and a gas burner (20), as well as a signalling system switching on a gas pressure sensor (22), and a gas pressure indicator (24), electrolyte level indicator (7) and a power supply indicator (41). The current supply line (4) of the electrolyzer is connected to a source (5) of electric current having a stabilized average value, comprising two blocking inputs (35 and 36) connected to the signalling system. The latter comprises a sensor (25) and an indicator (27) of the level of the liquid in the waterlock ((10). When a signal is generated by the gas pressure sensor (22), the power source (5) stops forming the output signal. When a signal is generated by the sensor (25) indicating the level of the liquid at initial start-up of the installation, the gas will not be produced, and in the course of operation power is fed to the electrolyzer (1), but an alarm system is switched on.
