Abstract:
Provided is a microchip for separating microparticles, the microchip being used in a flow cytometer that achieves higher speed, higher purity, and higher acquisition efficiency in separation of microparticles. A microchip for separating microparticles, the microchip being characterized by including a main channel through which a microparticle-containing liquid flows, a capture channel connected to the main channel along the same axis, a capture chamber connected to the capture channel, and a gate channel intersecting the capture channel, the capture channel having an opening that intersects the gate channel, and the cross-sectional area upstream of the opening along the direction in which the liquid flows being smaller than the cross-sectional area downstream of the opening.
