Abstract:
The present invention provides a practical microneedle preparation by finding, for microneedles to be coated, suitable coating conditions with respect to the coating geometric shape and position thereof on a needle. In this microneedle array, the needle length is 350-1,500 μm inclusive, the diameter of the apex of the needle tip is 15-100 μm inclusive, and a bio-insoluble material, preferably a bio-insoluble polymer, having a drug-coated area is used as a base, the microneedle array being characterized in that the apex of the needle tip is not drug-coated. The upper end of the drug-coated area is preferably positioned at least 30 μm lower than the apex of the needle tip. The maximum diameter of the drug-coated area is preferably at most 300 μm.
