Title:
MICRORNA FOR IDENTIFICATION OF EXPOSURE TO PARTICULATE MATTER 2.5, AND IDENTIFICATION METHOD USING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/005532
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a microRNA for the identification of exposure to particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5), and an identification method using same. More specifically, the present invention was found to be capable of being effectively used as a tool for monitoring PM2.5, for determining the hazard of PM2.5, and for investigating the mechanism of toxicity caused by PM2.5, by screening one type of overexpressed microRNA of at least 1.300-fold expression and one type of underexpressed microRNA of at most 0.769-fold expression as a result of having pneumocytes or lung cancer cells exposed to a water-soluble extract of PM2.5 and an organic extract of PM2.5, and by using the two types of microRNAs as biomarkers.
