Abstract:
A microscope for observing a culture vessel that has a plurality of layered observation surfaces. The microscope comprises an objective lens, an image formation lens, an optical member that is arranged on the optical axis between the objective lens and the image formation lens and has a variable focal length, and a working distance modification part that, by changing the focal length of the optical member, changes the working distance from an observation surface from among the plurality of observation surfaces to the objective lens.
