Title:
MIXER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/038992
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To enable operation using low local power whilst avoiding reductions in multiplication signal output. [Solution] Provided is a frequency-converting device capable of obtaining resonant characteristics having a high Q value, obtaining large multiplication signals and functioning with narrow-band selectivity by inclining the magnetic field generated by a magnetic field application unit (3) towards the film-plane normal line direction relative to the free magnetization layer of a magnetoresistive element (2) which is equipped with a fixed magnetization layer, a free magnetization layer and a nonmagnetic spacer provided between the fixed magnetization layer and the free magnetization layer and which generates voltage signals (multiplication signals) (S3) by multiplying high-frequency signals (S1) and local signals (S2) using the magnetoresistance effect when both signals (S1, S2) are inputted, or by inclining said magnetic field towards the film-plane normal line direction from the film plane direction.
