Title:
MIXER HAVING FREQUENCY SELECTIVITY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/038993
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] The main purpose of the present invention is to provide a mixer having a band-pass filter function for reception, and which is also able to remove large multiplication signals. [Solution] A magnetoresistive element (2) includes a pinned magnetic layer, a free magnetic layer, and a nonmagnetic spacer layer provided between the pinned magnetic layer and the free magnetic layer. Multiplication signals obtained from the magnetoresistive element (2), which generates voltage signals (multiplication signals) (S4) by multiplying high-frequency signals (S1) and local signals (S2) using the magnetoresistance effect when both signals (S1, S2) are input, are increased or decreased depending on the intensity of resonance characteristics, with the maximum intensity being exhibited when the resonance frequency (f0) coincides with the respective frequencies (f1, f2) of both signals (S1, S2), and the intensity being attenuated when the resonance frequency (f0) does not coincide with both or either one of the frequencies (f1, f2). A frequency-converting device having a desired band-pass filter can be provided which has the same effect no matter which band-pass filter is inserted by controlling the magnetic field applied by a magnetic field-applying unit (3).
