Provided is a mobile body that a passenger can board, the mobile body comprising: a drive apparatus for moving the mobile body; a sense apparatus for sensing a situation at least ahead of travel of the mobile body; an operating element which is provided on an armrest of the mobile body and that can be operated at least left and right so that the passenger can indicate a travel direction for the mobile body; and a control apparatus for causing the mobile body to run in a mode in which acceleration and steering are performed automatically. In accordance with the operation performed on the operating element to indicate the travel direction, the control apparatus automatically generates a target trajectory for the mobile body to change the travel direction on the basis of the situation that has been sensed ahead of travel, and controls the drive apparatus so that the mobile body moves along the target trajectory.
