Abstract:
Provided is a mobile terminal comprising: a display unit for outputting visual information; a depth camera for acquiring a depth image by capturing an image of an object; a memory in which the vein pattern of a hand of a user is stored; and a control unit connected to the display unit, depth camera, and memory, wherein the control unit authenticates the user by using the stored vein pattern of the user, if the shape of the hand of the user is recognized from the depth image, and runs a specific application corresponding to a three-dimensional gesture of the hand of the user, if the user is authenticated, and an authentication process required by the run specific application is skipped.
