Title:
MODULE BATTERY AND PRODUCTION METHOD FOR MODULE BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/050669
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A module battery in which at least two strings are connected in parallel. The strings comprise at least two cells and a fuse. The at least two cells are connected in series. The fuse is connected in series to the at least two cells. The fuse fuses if there is a current at or above a fusing current. The cells do not combust if the heat generated per unit time is no more than an upper limit. The number of cells connected in series is determined so as to be no more than a threshold value at which power that is converted to heat within cells that have shorted when a malfunction has occurred reaches the upper limit. The fusing current matches the charge current that flows to a malfunctioning string if the power that is converted to heat in cells that have shorted when a malfunction has occurred reaches the upper limit.
