Abstract:
An improved method of manufacturing molds which can increase the moisture resistance of a mold that uses an inorganic caking additive comprising water glass, and a mold are provided. To manufacture a mold, a molding material mixture which contains at least a refractory aggregate, a caking additive having water glass as a necessary component, and a carbonate and/or borate is used, and this is filled into and held in a mold heated to 120-200°C to allow setting.
