Abstract:
A molybdenum trioxide powder which comprises aggregates of primary particles each containing a β-crystal structure of molybdenum trioxide and has a MoO3 content of 99.6% or more as measured with fluorescent X-ray (XRF), wherein the average particle diameter of the primary particles is 1 μm or less. A method for producing the molybdenum trioxide powder, the method comprising vaporizing a molybdenum oxide precursor compound to form molybdenum trioxide steam and cooling the molybdenum trioxide steam.
