Abstract:

A method for monitoring a communication device, comprising: detecting a flow of messages at an interface of the communication device, recording a sequence of message events (P) over time, wherein a message event comprises a date of a detected message of the flow, computing a modeiized rate of the messages over time as a function of the sequence of message events (P), and detecting a sequence of rate change events over time, wherein a rate change event comprises an updated value of the modeiized rate of the messages. The method repeatedly performs the steps of predicting a time-window (U, L) for the date of a subsequent message event (P) and, if the date of the subsequent message event is out of the predicted time- window, detecting a rate change event.
