Abstract:
Provided is a highly reliable motion vector detecting device capable of detecting the
motion vector of an entire frame image. In a peak detector (317), a relative position
to become a comparison object with respect to a relative position (or a horizontal
motion vector) to become a reference value is moved sequentially from a minus
side to a plus side. At each movement, the magnitudes of block n-value data in
the vertical direction at two relative positions are compared. In this case,
the n-value data, as decided to be larger by the comparison, in the vertical direction
is changed to the reference value (or kept as the reference value), and is then
compared with that of a relative position to become the comparison object. These
operations are repeated to determine the maximum (Pn) (the peak value) of the
block n-value data in the vertical direction.
