Abstract:
A motor having a first terminal and a second terminal to which a single-phase alternating current is to be input, the motor comprising: a third terminal; an AC/DC converter for converting the single-phase alternating current into a direct current; an inverter for inverting the direct current into a three-phase alternating current by PWM control with PWM signals; a control unit for outputting the PWM signals to the inverter; and a detection circuit connected to the third terminal. The detection circuit outputs any one of a first detection signal, a second detection signal, and a third detection signal in accordance with a state of the third terminal. The control unit outputs the PWM signals so that a first rotation state is achieved when the detection circuit is outputting the first detection signal, a second rotation state is achieved when the detection circuit is outputting the second detection signal, and a third rotation state is achieved when the detection circuit is outputting the third detection signal.
