Abstract:
The present disclosure discloses noise reduction earmuffs, comprising an earmuff housing forming an earmuff cavity, a separator installed in the earmuff cavity and forming an independent cavity chamber, and a tube installed on the separator. There are openings at two ends of the tube. One opening of the tube is located within the cavity chamber and the other opening thereof extends outside of the cavity chamber into the earmuff cavity. The cavity chamber and the tube form a low-frequency resonator having a resonant frequency being equal to a corner frequency of a low-pass filter formed by the earmuffs. The disclosure provides the low-frequency resonator in the earmuff cavity to solve the problem of how to insulate noise using earmuffs, and utilizes resonance-based sound absorption of the low-frequency resonator to absorb energy of passively insulated noise close to the resonant frequency of the low-frequency resonator within the earmuff cavity, thereby preventing the issue of noise amplification at low frequencies for passive sound insulation, and achieving a balance between energy attenuation and an attenuation band of noise within the earmuff cavity. The invention protects the ears of a user, and reduces the overall size of the earmuff to improve user comfort.
