Abstract:
The present invention relates to a non-quenched and non-tempered steel wire rod having improved machinability and toughness and to a method for manufacturing same, the non-quenched and non-tempered wire rod, according to the present invention, comprising, in percentage by weight: C: 0.3-0.5%; Si: 0.4-0.9%; Mn: 0.5-1.2%; P: 0.02% or less; S: 0.01-0.05%; sol.Al: 0.01-0.05%; Cr: 0.1-0.3%; Ti: 0.01-0.02%; Ca: 0.0005-0.002%; N: 0.007-0.02%; and the balance consisting of Fe and inevitable impurities, and comprising ferrite and perlite as a microstructure, wherein following relational expression 1 is satisfied, and the area fraction of MnS satisfies 0.10-0.60%.
