Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method for preserving platelets in a refrigerated or frozen state while retaining more functions of the platelets and to provide a platelet preservation solution, etc., for use in such a method. The present invention relates to a platelet preservation solution for refrigeration or freezing that contains electrolytes and an anticoagulant. The present invention also relates to a method for preserving platelets that includes a step for suspending platelets in the platelet preservation solution of the present invention and a step for preserving the suspension by refrigeration or freezing at 10°C or less.
