Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel polar code shortening method, and a communication method and system. Existing polar code shortening algorithms only consider the characteristics of a generator matrix and evenly select overcapable bits at a message end. Provided in the present invention is a novel polar code shortening method by means of analyzing the influence that a shortening operation at a code word end has on bits at a message end, comprising: first selecting the m most reliable bits at a message end, configuring said bits as overcapable bits and fixed bits, and then obtaining a shortening mode of a code word end by means of a mapping principle. The present invention theoretically proves the reasonableness and feasibility of the present shortening algorithm and interprets the advantages of the present shortening algorithm in terms of channel capacity. The simulation result shows that under different code length and code rate conditions, the frame error rate performance and bit error rate performance of the present polar code shortening algorithm are superior to the existing polar code puncturing and shortening algorithms.
