Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel sulfonated conjugated tetraphenylethylene polyimides (SCTPPIs) obtained by synthesizing sulfonated diamine through one-step polycondensation polymerization, and to a method for preparing same, as well as to a proton exchange membrane using the SCTPPIs, and to a polymer electrolyte fuel cell using the proton exchange membrane as an electrolyte. The SCTPPIs according to the present invention may exhibit an ion-exchange capacity (IEC) and water uptake (WU) equal to commercial Nafion, and may have superior thermal stability and better dimensional stability, and therefore can be effectively used as an electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell.
