Abstract:

Novel sulfur compounds represented by general formula (I) wherein n represents an integer of 0 to 2 and R represents hydrogen, vinyl, methacryloyl, vinylbenzyl, glycidyl, acryloyl or allyl, provided the case where n is 0 to R is hydrogen is excluded. The compounds can be copolymerized with various comonomers to give excellent cured articles having a high refractive index. They are therefore usable as extremely useful monomers for producing optical materials, coating materials, adhesives, sealants, and so forth having excellent physical properties.
