Abstract:
This object detecting device is provided with: an acquiring unit for acquiring the intensity, at a second transmitting and receiving unit among a plurality of transmitting and receiving units capable of transmitting and receiving ultrasound waves, of direct waves, which are ultrasound waves transmitted by a first transmitting and receiving unit and received directly by the second transmitting and receiving unit, and the intensity of reflected waves, which are reflected waves resulting from the ultrasound waves transmitted from the first transmitting and receiving unit being reflected by an object, and which are received by the transmitting and receiving unit; and a detecting unit for calculating an air absorption attenuation coefficient of the ultrasound waves on the basis of the intensity of the direct waves, and detecting the object on the basis of the air absorption attenuation coefficient and the intensity of the reflected waves.
