Abstract:
[Problem] To realize in a simple manner a rotary switch that is appropriate for operating an element of an industrial machine. [Solution] This operating apparatus 100 is provided with a rotary switch 20 for driving an element 201 of an industrial machine S, the operating apparatus 100 comprising: a rotary drive device 30 for rotating the rotary switch 20; a brake device 40 for restricting the rotation or imparting a load to the rotation of the rotary switch 20; a setting unit (touch panel 10) for setting a first mode in which the rotation range of the rotary switch 20 is regulated, or a second mode in which the rotation range of the rotary switch 20 is not regulated; and a control unit 50 for controlling the rotary drive device 30 and the brake device 40 in accordance with the first mode or the second mode set by the setting unit (touch panel 10). The control unit 50, in the first mode, controls at least one of the rotary drive device 30 and the brake device 40 so as to restrict a rotation of the rotary switch 20 that exceeds the rotation range.
