The present application relates to the field of artificial intelligence, and in particular to an optical computing apparatus and an optical computing method. Provided in the embodiments of the present application is an optical computing apparatus. The apparatus comprises a laser, which is used for outputting m first optical signals having different wavelengths; a modulator array, which is used for outputting a plurality of second optical signals according to first data indicated by the m first optical signals and modulated second data; and a wavelength router, which is used for receiving the plurality of second optical signals output by means of the modulator array, and recombining the plurality of second optical signals to obtain a plurality of recombined second optical signals and outputting same, wherein the plurality of recombined second optical signals indicate a computing result of the first data and the second data. The optical computing apparatus provided in the embodiments of the present application can implement a convolution operation in one step, thereby greatly improving the optical convolution computing efficiency.
