Abstract:
This optical connection component is provided with: an optical fiber; a high relative refractive index difference optical fiber that is fusion-spliced to the optical fiber and has a larger core-cladding relative refractive index difference than the optical fiber; and an accommodating member that accommodates the total length of the optical fiber and the high relative refractive index difference optical fiber, and has a first end surface exposed so as to be approximately flush with an end surface on the side opposite to the fusion-spliced side of the optical fiber, and a second end surface exposed so as to be approximately flush with an end surface on the side opposite to the fusion-spliced side of the high relative refractive index difference optical fiber. The optical fiber and the high relative refractive index difference optical fiber are secured to the accommodating member along a longitudinal direction.
