An optical distance measuring device (10) employing light is provided with: a light emitting unit (20) in which a first light emitting element (21a) and a second light emitting element (21b) having light-emitting regions in which the length of the light-emitting region in a first direction is greater than in a second direction intersecting the first direction are disposed spaced apart from one another in the second direction by a predetermined distance; two projecting lenses (22a, 22b) which are provided corresponding to the first light emitting element and the second light emitting element, respectively, and which are disposed in positions separated from one another in the second direction and overlapping one another in the first direction; a scanner (26) which causes an emitted light beam that has been emitted from the light emitting unit and has passed through the two projecting lenses to be scanned toward a measuring zone; a light receiving unit (30) which receives reflected light from the emitted light beam emitted from the light emitting unit; and a measuring unit (40) which measures the distance to a target object in accordance with the time from the light emission by the light emitting unit until the light reception by the light receiving unit.
