Abstract:
An optical element 10 transmits light that is incident onto an incident surface 20 along an optical axis OA and emits the light that converges, diverges, or is made parallel with respect to the optical axis OA from emission surfaces 21, 22. The optical element 10 has a longitudinal direction DL along the optical axis OA and a transverse direction DT perpendicular to the longitudinal direction DL; the optical element 10 has a refractive index distribution in which the refractive index decreases along the transverse direction DT from the optical axis OA. A first emission surface 21 is located at a first position in the longitudinal direction DL; a second emission surface 22 is located at a second position that is different from the first position in the longitudinal direction DL. This configuration allows for the emission of a plurality of light beam fluxes that have different focusing properties with respect to the optical axis.
