Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing an optical layered body that can be used for a reflective circular polarizer that will cause less ghosting when applied to a virtual reality display device, an electronic viewfinder, or the like. This optical layered body comprises a first layer, a second layer, a third layer and a fourth layer, in that order. The first through fourth layers are all cholesteric liquid crystal layers and each have a light-reflecting property. The central wavelength of reflection light is in a range of 430-570 nm, in a range of 550-670 nm, in a range of 430-570 nm, and in a range of 550-670 nm, respectively, for the first through fourth layers. The sign of retardation in the film thickness direction of the first layer at a wavelength of 550 nm is the opposite of the sign of retardation in the film-thickness direction of the second layer at a wavelength of 550 nm. The sign of retardation in the film-thickness direction of the third layer at a wavelength of 550 nm is the opposite of the sign of retardation in the film-thickness direction of the fourth layer at a wavelength of 550 nm.
