Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an optical module for irradiating an object with a light beam and detecting reflected light therefrom, wherein the light beam is linear and has no distortion irrespective of the angle of incidence of the light beam, which is scanned. The present invention provides an optical module in which an optical scan unit (150) scans a light beam in a predetermined direction (vertical direction). An optical conversion unit (161) converts the scanned light beam into a linear light beam in a line direction (horizontal direction) substantially orthogonal to the scan direction. An optical detection unit (180) detects reflected light from an object with respect to the linear light beam. The optical conversion unit (161) has an optical surface (S1) with a radius of curvature (rx) in the scan direction which is substantially equal to the distance from a virtual scanning center point (Ox) in the scan direction to a central point (A) on the optical surface (S1), irrespective of the position in the line direction. The optical module of the present invention is applicable to a ranging device.
