Abstract:
An optical sensing apparatus and a sensing method thereof. The sensing method comprises: providing a breakdown bias voltage to a photodiode (PD1) (S702); according to a light-sensing signal (S1) generated by the photodiode (PD1) sensing ambient light (L1), calculating the number of breakdown times of the photodiode (PD1) so as to generate a count value (C1) (S704); sampling the count value (C1) to generate a plurality of sampled values (S706); and, according to the sampled values, determining light characteristics of the ambient light (L1) (S708).
