Title:
OPTICAL SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/100261
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An optical sensor (1) according to the present invention detects the proximity of an object (5) according to light-reception results, with respect to light. The optical sensor is provided with a light source (21), a light-receiving unit (22) and a protruding part (13). The light source emits light (L1) onto the object. The light-receiving unit receives reflected light (L2) which is the emitted light reflected off of the object, and thereby generates a signal that indicates light-reception results. The protruding part is taller than the light source and the light-receiving unit. The protruding part is disposed between the light source and the light-receiving unit such that if the light from the light source was reflected within a prescribed distance (D1) range from the protruding part, that reflected light is blocked from the light-receiving unit. In response to the approach of the object which has reached within the range of the prescribed distance, the light-receiving unit outputs a signal so as to indicate light-reception results that are below a threshold amount of light indicating that the reflected light has not been received.
