Abstract:
The present invention facilitates the correction of an aberration in a lens of an optical system. This optical system, which is for observing from an observation part an image displayed on an image display surface of a display element, has a first lens group and a second lens group. The first lens group comprises, in order from the side thereof that is toward the observation part: a transparent element that has a first semi-transmissive reflective surface; a first aspheric lens; and a second aspheric lens that is configured with a positive refractive power and that has a second semi-transmissive reflective surface formed on the side thereof that is toward the image display surface. The second lens group is disposed between the first lens group and the image display surface and comprises at least one aspheric lens. The absolute value of the focal length of the first aspheric lens is longer than that of the second aspheric lens, and the Abbe number of the first aspheric lens at the d line is less than that of the second aspheric lens.
