Abstract:
The present invention comprises a substrate, a cladding positioned on a first surface of the substrate, and a core positioned within the cladding. The cladding has a recessed portion that is positioned surrounding an element-mounting portion. The inner wall surface of the recessed portion comprises a plurality of wall surfaces, and corner-supporting surfaces that are each positioned between adjacent wall surfaces among the plurality of wall surfaces.
