Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for producing an optically active 1-aryl-2-fluoro-substituted ethylamine represented by the following general formula [2]: [wherein Ar represents an aryl group; n represents an integer of 1 or 2; and * represents an asymmetric carbon] or a salt thereof by hydrogenolyzing an optically active secondary amine represented by the following general formula [1]: [wherein Ar represents an aryl group; n represents an integer of 1 or 2; and * represents an asymmetric carbon] or a salt thereof in the presence of a group VIII transition metal catalyst.
