Abstract:
Provided is an organic EL device which has a wide range of selection of materials for a filler, and which is capable of suppressing damage to an organic EL element when bent.
An organic EL device (1) which is characterized by comprising a first substrate (11), a second substrate (12), one or more organic EL elements, and a sealing layer (14), and which is also characterized in that: each of the organic EL elements comprises an organic EL layer (13) and a pair of electrodes (17, 18); one surface of the first substrate (11) is a mounting surface on which the one or more organic EL elements are arranged; the first substrate (11) and the second substrate (12) are laminated such that the mounting surface of the first substrate (11) and one surface of the second substrate (12) face each other, with the sealing layer (14) being interposed therebetween; the sealing layer (14) seals the gap between the first substrate (11) and the second substrate (12) in the entire edge region of the mounting surface of the first substrate (11) in the region facing the second substrate (12) and in the entire edge region of the facing surface of the second substrate (12) in the region facing the first substrate (11); the second substrate (12) has a recessed portion (16) and a projected portion (15) in the facing surface at a position inner than the sealing layer (14); and a moisture absorbent (19) is arranged in the recessed portion (16).
