Abstract:
The present invention provides an organic EL image display device. The organic EL image display device contains a light-emitting element substrate and a circular polarizer plate. The light-emitting element substrate has a reflection layer and an organic electroluminescent layer group in a matrix form above the reflection layer. The reflection layer, the organic electroluminescent layer group, and the circular polarizer plate are disposed in this order. A polarization-splitter layer is included between the organic electroluminescent layer group and the circular polarizer plate. The polarization-splitter layer contains polarization-splitter sites disposed in a matrix form so as to correspond to the organic electroluminescent layer group. From among the lights emitted by the corresponding organic electroluminescent layer, each of the polarization-splitter sites reflects a light in one polarization state, and transmits light in other polarization states. In the polarization-splitter layer, the polarization-splitter sites are demarcated by visible light-transmitting regions. This organic EL image display device has high luminance and low bleed.
