Abstract:
An organic electroluminescent element, in which a plurality of organic layers including at least a light emitting layer are held between a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and in which at least one of the organic layers contains an orthometalated iridium complex (A) represented by general formula (3) and an orthometalated iridium complex (B) represented by general formula (4) at a mixing ratio of from 99.95:0.05 to 95.00:5.00. (In general formulae (3) and (4), each of R3 and R7 independently represents an alkyl group or the like; each of R1, R2, R4-R6 and R8-R11 independently represents a hydrogen atom or the like; each of R14-R17 independently represents a hydrogen atom or the like; and each of X1-X5 represents a carbon atom or a nitrogen atom.)
