Abstract:
Provided is an organic EL element which has high efficiency and high driving stability, while having low drive voltage. This organic EL element is characterized by having one or more light emitting layers between a positive electrode and a negative electrode which face each other, wherein: at least one light emitting layer comprises a first host, a second host, and a vapor deposition layer containing a light emitting dopant material; the first host is selected from an oligopyridine compound represented by general formula (1); and the second host is selected from among a carbazole compound having at least two carbazole rings, an indolocarbazole compound having an indolocarbazole ring, or a compound having a carbazole ring and an indolocarbazole ring.
