Abstract:
Provided is a practically useful organic electroluminescent element having low voltage, high efficiency, and long service life characteristics. Specifically, the organic electroluminescent element is provided with a luminous layer containing: a first host of an indolocarbazole derivative represented by general formula (1); a second host of an indolocarbazole derivative represented by general formula (2); and a luminous dopant material. (Ring G is represented by formula (1a), ring H is represented by formula (1b), L1 is a single bond etc., X is N etc., Ar1 and Ar2 are aromatic hydrocarbon groups, aromatic hetero groups, etc., with at least one being a phenyl dibenzofuran group etc. and R1 and R2 represent deuterium etc.) (Ar3 and Ar4 are aromatic hydrocarbon groups etc., L is a single bond etc., and R3, R6, and R7 are deuterium etc.)
