Title:
ORGANIC LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE WITH AN IMPROVED SERVICE LIFE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2005112147
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to an OLED, in which the service life is significantly increased for the first time by the adroit application of at least one layer consisting of a co-polyaryl borane polymer between the cathode and the emitter layer and/or between the anode and the emitter layer. This is achieved by the use of the co-polyaryl borane polymer both as a hole-blocking and electron-attracting intermediate layer. The use of at least one layer of this type permits in particular the region in which recombination takes place and the balance of the charge carrier of an OLED to be controlled and operated in an improved manner.
