Abstract:
A negative electrode (10) comprising a pair of current collecting surface layers (4a, 4b) respectively serving as the front and rear surface, and an active material layer (3) interposed between the surface layers. The surface layers (4a, 4b) contain an element (6) having low lithium compound-forming power, and an element (5) having high lithium compound-forming power. They have no thick film conductor for current collection. The element (5) having high lithium compound-forming power contained in the surface layers (4a, 4b) is pulverized due to the charge/discharge, thereby causing cracks to cause cracking in the surface layers. The cracks propagate in the thickness direction of the surface layers and reach the active material layer (3), thereby forming many micropores (7) which enable permeation of the electrolyte.
