Abstract:
Provided are: an organic thin film that is highly oriented and has a high degree of hardness; and a manufacturing method therefor. Said organic thin film comprises a composition containing at least one polymerizable liquid-crystal compound, with the orientation of said composition fixed by means of plasma polymerization. The aforementioned manufacturing method includes the following: orienting a composition containing at least one polymerizable liquid-crystal compound; and using plasma polymerization either to both orient said composition and affix said orientation or to affix the orientation of the composition after the composition has been oriented.
