Abstract:
The present invention provides an osmotic pressure regulating agent that contains allitol or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The present invention also provides a transfusion, a peritoneal dialysate, an ophthalmic composition, or an osmotic laxative containing the osmotic pressure regulating agent. The present invention also provides a method for regulating the osmotic pressure of a subject, said method comprising administering allitol or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the subject in need thereof.
