Abstract:
Provided is an over-tube configured to prevent the contact of the open edge of a gas passage hole in the over-tube with the inner wall surface of a lumen. This over-tube is provided with: an over-tube body which has a distal end and a proximal end and into which the insertion section of an endoscope adapted to be inserted into a lumen is inserted; a balloon mounted to the outer peripheral surface of the over-tube body; a protrusion formed on the outer peripheral surface; and a gas passage hole formed in the outer peripheral surface and connecting the outer peripheral surface and the inner peripheral surface of the over-tube body. On the outer peripheral surface, one of the protrusion and the gas passage hole is formed in the periphery of the other.
