Abstract:
Provided are: a polynucleotide that codes for an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1 or 3; a protein having an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1 or 3; a method for manufacturing an L-α-amino acid compound; and the like. The method for manufacturing an L-α-amino acid compound includes: a step (1) in which this protein is caused to act on an α-hydroxy carboxylic acid compound and a corresponding α-oxocarboxylic acid compound is obtained; and a step in which a protein that has the ability to convert the α-oxocarboxylic acid compound into a corresponding L-α-amino acid compound by amination is caused to act on the α-oxocarboxylic acid compound obtained by the step (1), and the corresponding L-α-amino acid compound is obtained.
