Abstract:
The present invention reduces times required for an initial operation and an operation right after an exchange of a wound body. This packaging device packages an object to be packaged by using a wound body around which a packaging material of a long sheet shape is wound. The wound body includes a recording medium that stores information. Information recorded in the recording medium includes residual amount information that indicates a residual amount of the packaging material in the wound body. The packaging device is provided with: a driving unit which generates a driving force for rotating the wound body; an information reading unit which reads the residual amount information stored in the recording medium; and a control unit which controls the packaging device. The control unit sets a rotation speed of the wound body on the basis of the residual amount information read by the information reading unit.
