A padded string 14 of the present invention has a cylindrical surface fabric 6 filled with long-fiber padding 8. Warp yarns and weft yarns of the cylindrical surface fabric 6 are arranged in an oblique direction with respect to the length direction of the padded string 14. The method for producing this padded string involves cutting cloth into a strip, folding the cut strip-shaped cloth half, machine-sewing the long side thereof to form a cylindrical surface fabric, fixing one end part of the cylindrical surface fabric and one end part of long-fiber padding to each other through sewing, filling the inside of the cylindrical surface fabric with the long-fiber padding while flipping inside out the cylindrical surface fabric to produce this padded string. The fibrous structure of the present invention is formed from a padded string and is at least one selected from the group consisting of a knitted item, a woven item, and a braided item. The bag of the present invention includes a padded string, wherein the padded string is knitted and constitutes at least part of the outer side of the bag. Consequently, the present invention can provide a padded string which is light even when the string is thick, in which padding is not unevenly distributed, and which is suitable for bags and the like.
